There is concern for 15 workers at a Clerys store in Dublin.

The company announced it has decided to close its shop in Blanchardstown.

Staff were today told the store will cease trading in September because of the current financial difficulties at the company.

Most of the workers are SIPTU members the Union has requested an urgent meeting with management.

SIPTU Organiser Graham Macken said ?The announcement came as a shock to the 15 workers at the Clerys store in Blanchardstown?.

?While they were aware of the company?s current financial difficulties they were not informed until today that management intended to close the store during September?.

?Union representatives are seeking an immediate meeting with management to discuss the possibility of saving at least some of the threatened jobs and redundancy terms? he added.
